Licensing Question

Hey guys, I need some info on licensing for a studio. I run my freelance license and on most project been fine running on my own system. However I am getting asked to work on more projects with studios with walled networks that don’t allow any internet so would need a different license. Have you got a model that for these scenarios I can share pricing for

Hey Hey @tmaintv 🙂 We don't actually have any way of activating a Dash license without internet 😦 Are they 100% without internet? Or could you activate the license having internet off, and then turning internet off and start working?

I will check. But what I know is that there is one system that runs unreal on the internet. Anything that has to be added to unreal to work on has to go through a transfer from that system to the systems on the closed network. Then the work done on the closed network systems only. Therefore the machines it would need to be activated on I believe would be without internet. It seems to be the case at any studios that have to have a secure network. Understood if this isn’t something that you have in place atm

Got it, thanks for the details. Then perhaps it would be possible to activate it on that first system and transfer it as you say. From our side, as long as the Hardware ID on the PC is is activated on is the same after the transfer of network, I think it should be fine. So I would say, trying this is step 1, then if that works, we would need to check if we could set up a custom license that don't need to be re-checked against the license system (or at least as often as it does now as this needs internet). I guess a perpetual license would make the most sense then. If idea 1 does not work, me, you and the possible studio, could discuss if we could find some custom agreement that maybe could make it possible for us to ship a Dash build with another licensing system that does not need internet🙌
