Clicking noise when moving gantry
Hi guys,
I just finished my build of the v-core 4 500 hybrid and encountered the following issue:
Yesterday I did the z-offset test print and skew correction.
Today I wanted to run a quick print job and now the printer is making clicking noises when the gantry is moved by the motors or by hand.
Releasing tension on the right bottom tensioner seems to make it better.
Looking at the belt system I find nothing wrong.
What could this be?
I am a bit at a loss here.
Attached a short video in which I moved the gantry by hand
Thanks for your help.

I'm getting this too. Also belt tensioning related. Thinking of backing off a bit on the belts. Seems to be when the stepper rotates through a particular part of its full range.
The same thing happened to me too, I've already replaced everything except the steppers, including insulating the bearings with Kapton tape. When removed, everything works perfectly
I was able to solve my problem, all of my 20T pulleys were probably defective. After replacing them, I now have a really nice, quiet printer
Oh no... Don't tell me that... I don't want to rebuild those stacks again...
I also narrowed it down to the teethed pulley or the motor. Loosening the two worm screws on the pulley makes the clicking noise disappear. Tightening them so the motor turns leads to the clicking sound.
Really frustrated...I don't want to remove the hybrid system, change pulleys and/ or motors and redo the whole calibration 😦
Seems like there is no way around it.
Guess I will be writing to ratrig support as this is definitely a hardware issue.
Same problem here also
