Specific people cannot join me, while others can.
Hi! I am making a Fabric Minecraft server that has a decently big selection of mods. Currently, I am having an issue to where certain people cannot join, while others can. I have checked my firewalls, changing ports, etc, and nothing works. They just seem to have extremely laggy/poor connections to me, but not vice versa. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

I am on Minecraft 1.20.1
where are the logs
!logs
Please check your server log for errors from your plugins.
If you need further help understanding the errors, please send us the whole log file.
Where can I find the server log?
Logs are stored in
<server_directory>/logs/
. Search for a file explorer in your server's management interface and navigate to that directory. Once you've opened that up, search for the latest.log
file. Some providers have a separate page for logs and may hide the "logs" folder.
On Aternos:
• Go to https://aternos.org/log/.
On Minehut and server.pro:
• Go to the "files" tab in the left menu.
• Navigate to the root directory of your server.
• From there navigate to /logs/latest.log
.
What should I do with the log?
• First of all, read it! I mean, that's what you do all the time when you run a server, isn't it? Try to locate any errors that have anything to do with the issue you are facing.
• If you got the latest.log
file or created a .txt
file with the necessary errors you can upload these directly to the channel, but we prefer if you upload them to https://mclo.gs/.
• If you have trouble downloading the log file, copy/paste the text to a paste service (like mclogs). Copy the link that it gives you and send it to us. (Don't worry, McLogs hides your users' IPs.)Admincraft Canned Responses
I'll get logs in a moment
We have uploaded your file to a paste service for better readability
Paste services are more mobile friendly and easier to read than just posting a file
message.txt

These are the full logs, keep in mind its modded so their will be a lot of unnecessary things potentially
This issue does happen somewhat on vanilla too, but its a lot harder to recreate and have persistently replicating
Any help is greatly appreciated
Ive honestly been trying to fix this issue for like a month now and I've even gone as far to changing my modem, thinking it could have been that, however it has not.
I've checked and its almost everyone that cant connect to me, besides like 2 people.
After installing timeoutout they can connect, but typically with very very poor connection strength, lagging for sometimes up to 2 minutes of having lag
Well then ypu've found it. It means that your player's internet is too slow/unreliable to play a modded server
Well I find it weird how they could join previously then all the sudden all 4 people simultaneously can’t play one day
I’m honestly starting to think it’s an issue with my location or something, despite being short distance. Since some of these people use fiber and get absurd speeds, and can connect to like the other side of the world xd
But not me, despite going through all the things i could do really.
Make them run winmtr to your ip https://docs.bloom.host/extras/ping-issues/
Alright I'll do it later today
Heres some of the results on their end
2% packetlos is very not good
any non 0 amount of packetloss is not good
if their keepalive (what timeout thing is based on) packet response or they dont get it at all would cause them to get kicked out and 2% of all their packets (actions etc) is basically lost to the void
Ah fun
I'm wandering where the issue is occuring though..
your isp
Oh great
the server is connected with ethernet correct
if yes its most likely isp
So I basically can't do anything to fix it..?
ask your isp
I guess I'll talk to them about it, and ill put whatever they tell me here
Did a test with someone else and they lost up to 26% of packets
Yikes....
yeah that would def cause issues lmfao
Yeahh definitally gonna talk to my isp about this when Im able to xd
Update some people have this for the connection
And still cant connect
However there seems to be no packet loss...maybe the no response one is but i dunno
Well without contacting the isp, the issue seemed to have just fixed itself after like as month of having the issue...so I have no idea what was going on...maybe the isp fixed it?
