https://setup.md/guides/oracle-cloud You can use this guide to create a free mc server, please be aware this requires technical understand, a debit/credit card to verify yourself and availability in your region.
setup.md
Oracle Cloud
A modified version of the guide produced by u/Belaboy1095969 on the Admincraft reddit using Ubuntu LTS.
I cant figure it out
I tried to run this command in command prompt ...
ssh root@<public-ip> -i "path-to-ssh-private.key"
...
but it says file not found
I put in the ip of the server
and
I copied the path to the key
yes I still am
I dont know any so can you send a link to one to me?
uh I have no idea, I was just following the video I sent in the first message in the channel
idk
ok ill try it
I use Termius, works okay
If you are fine with the cloud and whatever
But I can see oracle lin being an issue if you are indeed using it
now its saying it wants a public key

im pretty sure
ok did that
it says permission denied
@Mortis
can someone please help me
im still stuck
@Mortis can you please continue to help me?
Just use a sp if you have skill issue
a skill point?
life isnt a videogame
Service provider
I am
im using Oracle cloud
A, hosting, provider
Like servcity or bloom (not affiliated)
You canβt do anything if you canβt even log in
Like !oracle says, some technical skill required
well this server is supposed to be powerful and its free
Im broke so I dont have many good options
Powerful, not really
Whatβs 4 threads on an enterprise cpu gonna get you
Single thread performance is ass
its a 4ocpu at 24gb of ram
should be enough for a small modded server
Forge or fabric
forge
Player count?
What mod(s)
probably less than 10
players
I would say you should try termius if you donβt know how to properly formulate a ssh command
Add the oci host there
im trying to learn how to do a ssh command
Do you have the key file or not
I do but it wont work
Whatβs the file name
Including extension

Just rename it so itβs easier to type
Like main.key
ok did that
Now try again and show me your command
(Omit ip if you wish)
ssh opx@pub-ip -i ~"C:\Users\myusername\Downloads\main.key"
Isnβt the default username for Ubuntu instances ubuntu
idk
I dont think im using Ubuntu tho
What the actual fuck.
Did the guide ask you to use oracle lin
idk I didnt read the whole thing, I shouldnt need to when Ive done most of the setting up
Oh boy
Iβm back to recommending you to use a service provider
I literally need human help. tutorials dont work for me when they are that long
im getting this error now

Then I can tell you managing one isnβt for you as well, youβd actually be better off spending like 6-8 bucks per month getting a proper host to take care of management for you
But if you insist
Check ociβs firewall rules
Actually no
Just trash the instance and use ubuntu
or maybe you could help me with what im currently doing so I dont have to learn another
I am not using oracle linux period
oh, well I found out it was oracle libunix but I kinda gave up and just bought a server for one month.
I bought a 25 dollar 12 gb 6 cpu server on CloudNord
it was super easy to set up
once I bought it, it only took a few minutes to set up
I tried that, it didnt work
uh I forgot, I tried it earlier today and since then I terminated that server since I didnt need it anymore. it was a free server so I didnt really care too much.
well maybe ill try it again another day but for now ill just use the paid server.
ty for trying
windows terminal is pretty solid
nowadays
