Closest I get is lady white co which I'm usually wearing as warmups or around the house
Or Snow Peak, which I'm wearing lounging around outside or while I'm camping
Or I just got an auralee hoodie I'm in love with that has me wearing a hoodie again
In general I am not a huge fan of wearing athleisure outside the home in non-fitness settings. I find all of the clothes I wear regularly to be quite physically comfortable and capable anyway, and feel a level of psychological comfort and confidence in wearing something that is somewhat put together and appropriate for wherever I'm headed
Maybe this is an east coast (US) perspective or maybe it's just me
I have two pairs of uniqlo gym shorts and throw on whatever t-shirt when I'm working out. Can't wear sweatpants cuz my mom said they were sloppy and would make me gain weight when I was 10 and it left a permanent imprint on my mind
this is rly just a tangent but smthing i noticed abt bouldering is that some ppl basically just show up in what could pass as a spring/summer fit. graphic tops, lil tops big pants, etc
Bouldering people don’t tuck in their shirt for some reason which makes the most sense when bouldering
Something something activewear is whatever you’re active in, etc
I do think activewear and athleisure are two distinct dress styles
Im coming back around on athleisure, but the 2010s lulu minimalism is a really boring take on it
Its not my style but I love the needles take on athleisure

Gorpcore, streetwear, and the Malbon outfit Jason Day got ripped for by boomers are good styles, but the term itself implies the bad kind. The style needs to move off of joggers to have a chance at redeeming itself..
I saw a guy in Reebok classics umbro checkerboard shorts, retro socks, and white t shirt at the gym the other day. I could get behind an Umbro comeback. Maybe bring back the 80s windbreakers too.
athleisure is when i wear sweats and comfy walking shoes in the airport
They do some cowboy athleisure stuff thats so goofy its great
Am I wrong in thinking this is an area where gender dynamics may be particularly strong/interesting/problematic/etc? This might just be my own bias, but the image that immediately comes to mind for me are "cute gym outfits" for women but "lazy dads in sweatpants" for men. Which isn't to say it can't be done well in men, I'm just processing what my initial reaction is when hearing the term.
i think stuff like lululemon and gymshark and newer things from Nike and underarmour are closing the gap
to say nothing about the connotations of gray sweatpants for men
my south2west8 sweatpants have enough drape and pockets for me to wear them as actual pants, that's probably the closest i get
