Allowing a port?
Hi guys. Wanted to open a port to make Black Ops 3's NAT type open on my Bazzite system. I worry the port might not be allowed from the computer. Please let me know if that's how it works? Tried opening some ports via the browser but no dice.

Solution
any ports over 1024 is open by default.
this is default fedora behavior
Also, use firewalld for any port changes
This is also default Fedora behavior
Thanks guys
Hey guys. So the port I need to open looks to be allowed through the firewall. It is also set up on my router to allow the port, yet I'm still getting Moderate NAT type in Black Ops 3. Just wanted to know if there's anything I might be missing? Trying to open UDP port 27017 primarily
Also tested DMZ on the system's IP, where nothing changed
well, I tested setting the IP for the system as DMZ in the router's Wireless settings
Will keep investigating
NAT type in Bo3 is Moderate, as it would be by default
high ports like 27017 are open by default
More than likely this has to do with your router or another device
first make sure your isp doesnt give you shared ip, next make sure upnp is enabled in your router
The thing is, I have set IPs for my main desktop as well as this bazzite system. Both systems should have these ports forwarded (perhaps that’s the issue?)
Main Desktop has Open NAT type as a result
main desktop is windows or linux?
Win11
Might just be an oversight on my part. Will look as soon as I’m home
did you forward the port explicitly to main rig?
Indeed. That might be the cause 🤔
All ports are specifically forwarded to the main rig
All the relevant ports anyway
yeah that would cause open nat to be possible on your main rig
if you want multiple device just enable upnp
I’ll have to see. I think that should already be enabled, but will take a look regardless.
Will toy around some more. Thanks for your informative feedback guys!
I had an issue a while back and found it to be a router setting "Wireless Isolation mode" so devices could talk to the internet but they couldn't talk to each other on the same network
Will investigate this as well then. Thank you
UPnP is already enabled
wasn't able to find anything like this for my router
try removing the explicit port forward
Please pardon my ignorance, but how would I even do that?
Just straight up remove it?
you can remove or disable the rule
in router config I assume
let me try
yep
nada
Nvm. Works. Removed port forwarding rules for the main pc
Thanks for all the help guys!
