What are your thoughts on barrel jeans?
Hey y'all, as a general discussion, what are your opinions on barrel jeans?
I've seen some black ones on clearance in the women's aisle of my local high street store, but didn't have time to try them on. I'm missing some black jeans anyway, and I feel like the loose silhouette could be built upon rather nicely.
I know they've been a big trend for women, but don't think I've seen them mentioned nearly as much for men.

Do you own any? I'm a little curious as to how the "barrel" shape actually looks throughout the day
They can be good. I think they’re best when the length is just right, can become a bit too cropped if you’re not careful
If the fabric is right they should drape properly throughout the day

There are a lot of folks here who have some (including me), they can be cool but agree with heckle
But I'm broke and the price is right kinda thing so 🤷♂️
I'm kinda curious in a way what I'd wear with them. For some reason my mind is immediately going to my old Uniqlo turtleneck thermal top
Some colors of these are popular and they are generally barrelish shaped
The uniqlo u fit chino pants are the same basic cut as the twisted leg but in a chino twill without the twisted seam
I know some folks here have Abercrombie ones that look cool

Not sure that's the exact model I've got but it's pretty close.

I might like it slightly more cropped with a bit more room but not bad. I usually only wear sweaters that thin for layering but that's more personal preference

I love barrel jeans -- I think they add a nice sense of movement to the fit

Anyway, I'm thinking loose harem pant type shape with the pants matched with tighter form fitting up top could look interesting
Harem pant jeans is where my brain goes with them loool
i got these more subtle barrel (ish) in the ssense sale last year and they quickly became my fave pants
though i never tuck anything into my pants so i just do loose/loose

Ye I agree they're more "elevated" or whatever than just straight wide leg jeans in a way people who don't know the difference would be like why do that guy's jeans look better than other wide leg jeans
Ended up buying the jeans, and I was unprepared for how outrageously comfy these things are.
Like, they look good, sure, but they're so roomy, it's amazing, I love them
