State of the Union: Isaac's Pants
Last post for a while (I hope)
Trying to be very methodical about what I grab now in terms of clothes. I feel like I have a lot, and this year, I'm trying to be very mindful about what exactly is not present in the wardrobe, and having the purchases be fewer and more purposeful.
The toughest nut for me to crack at the moment is pants. I've got a good number of pants (which I'm posting below), but I feel like there are just some shapes that I'm missing in the wardrobe? Mainly the wide, clean shapes seen among the four posters here (Leo, Elvander, Holfram, and Michael respectively, didn't wanna tag to bother em)
Let me know if I'm overthinking things or if there's an approach I should take to finding pants that I haven't thought of before.

I do think almost all of your pants look tapered and it would be cool to see you wear wide untapered pants.
CMMN SWDN
Otto Wide Leg Trousers
Otto tailored trousers are cut to a wide fit and crafted from premium Italian wool fabric. Two side pockets in seam and twin jet pockets at the back. A CMMN SWDN staple. Model is 185 cm tall, 75 cm waist wearing size 46.
I think these are good for that.
Those are some nice pants
They're great, they make them in other colors too. But admittedly very expensive.
ah fuck forgot one pic
It's true, but part of the exercise is budgeting for one or two big things as opposed to a bunch of lil ones
They're a great look
I was thinking about some Story pants for a second and these are definitely in the wheelhouse of "shape I like/am looking for" while not going full send on casual pant/big cargo
Yeah, it's a tough shape to do well. And it's hard to find it for cheap because not a ton of people want to buy it (so it's not as profitable to make a lot of them and sell them cheaply) and it uses a lot more fabric of course lol (although fabric is cheap).
Tagging me is fine fwiw.
I can speak to the pants that I wear in that pic. Those are SFCs Patch Pocket denim. They are quite fun bc they are extremely high waisted 15'' rise or so. The inseam originally was 33'' but shrank about 1' so I did not need to hem them.
Anyway, if you want clean shapes, the correct pant lenght + the fabric is very important. You propably want something in a reasonably drapey fabric and the correct lenght. What i learned in my pants journey is that the "correct" lenght (the lenght needed to achieve the look your going for) really is a function of the drape of the fabric, the cut of the trousers and the lenghtbof the inseam. There unfortunately is no single "right" inseam.
