I can't get SMM to load/update mods.
Hello, I've been combing through these threads to try and fix my SMM, but I can't seem to find a solution.
I've tried uninstalling Satisfactory, deleting the Modsfolder in FactoryGame (and the plugins folder too, with a steam integrity check), uninstalling SMM and deleting whatever it put in AppData to reset the program.
But Satisfactory will crash, saying 'Plugin '(anything)' has failed to load because module 'anything' could not be found'. (This can be on any mod - removing them one at a time gives me the same popup but a different mod - even the Loader mod.)
I have then tried updating my mods - as for some reason they're a couple of versions behind, but SMM gives me an error saying 'Because Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML) "3.9.0" depends on Satisfactory (FactoryGame) ">=383729" and Satisfactory CL273254 is installed, Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML) "3.9.0" is forbidden.'
I have Satisfactory 1.0 and my SMM version is v3.0.3. Have I missed an issue?

Make sure you updated the game before launching SMM. If your game is up to date, you have both U8 and 1.0 installed in the same folder at once, and SMM is detecting the U8 version.
To fix this, uninstall the game, delete the game install dir if it still exists (this is NOT the AppData folder, but the location where you installed the game), then reinstall the game, and reopen SMM.
If reinstalling the game takes too long for you, a quicker fix is to delete the
<game install dir>\Engine\Binaries\Win64\FactoryGame-Win64-Shipping.version
file, though this is not meant to be a permanent solution, as having the game installed twice in the same directory can cause issues later.

triggered by @StebI forgot to add - I also only have 1.0 and not U8.
Please follow the directions the bot mentioned and try again
Steam/epic uninstall only remove files they know about so there can be lingering files left behind
The folder was completely gone when I did the reinstall, I double checked it
What game install do you have selected for managing with the mod manager? Is it trying to work on a different copy of the game?
It says steam, which just opens the correct path when I click the folder, and a second 'Unknown' option which I can't locate anywhere
but I have steam selected
Not sure what the issue is, can you send a full debug log?
>debug
We need more information to help you. Before launching the game again, open the Mod Manager and use the "Generate debug info" option, then send the zip file produced in #help-using-mods. This ensures that your help request won't get buried and forgotten in other, non-help channels!
If you need to access older log files, see https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_Logs
