What brand would you recommend for a nice trench?
Hey guys
So recently Ive gotten an amazing Raglan coat from boggi milano.
Now I'd like something great for rain and that looks good.
I guess for this more textures like polyester etc is expected?
I saw one from Canali once that was 100% cotton with something done to it so that it repeals water. That sounds even better maybe?
I'd love to have something great for when it rains but thats still classy!
The sales are still on!
Thanks

Trench coat in weatherproof ripstop in cosmos — S.E.H Kelly
Trench coat, made in London, with a very light (7oz) but paradoxically very strong cloth from West Yorkshire — and with horn buttons and brass buckles and loops from the West Midlands.
Chopper made a very good rec here.
If you’re insensitive about budget, get that one. Otherwise it’s a good idea to look for vintage Burberry or aquascutum, they are worth very little on the second hand market.
Steep price(oh its pounds haha, even more) but it looks amazing and I like how its so described on the website.
It reminds me I'd love to find documentaries about how coats of some great brands are made. Makes me wanna buy even more.
Is Canali good for trenches?
Yes but make sure you know the measurements you want since Canali is often cut roomier (though they do different cuts, like every brand)
Canali is great for outerwear and suiting but you are far more likely to get decent bang for your buck by finding something from Canali secondhand fwiw
Yeah I just ordered an alpaca coat for a very good price on Vinted. Its extremely expensive otherwise
Meaning I should pick a size below what I usually pick?
No
Make sure the measurements match what you want
If you want it to fit like the Boggi coat, then measure that coat and compare
Okay
I called boggi and the raglan coat is indeed a 46, they told me it makes sense if my suits from them are size 50 because the coat I bought is kinda oversize
What do you thinks of Hockerty? You can make your own there
mentioned it in fashion but london fog
current selection is good and the secondhand market is robust
depending on when it was made the sizing might be alpha (s, m, l, etc) or numeric (38, 40, etc, like tailoring) but check the measurements either way
