Fit check on this Uniqlo shirt?

I feel like it’s not quite an “overshirt” but it also…kind of is? At least for transitional weather, and also as layering piece (these pics were taken with one of their supima cotton short sleeve tees, but I also tried it on with a long sleeve cotton tee under and they felt mostly the same). So I’m not sure to get M or L. I’m only 5’9”/175cm but this is in Uniqlo in China so it’s Asian sizing (yay). Typically do sizing combined with height-based recommendations here. So the tags recommend L for 175cm and M for 170cm. But I can’t help but feel like the L falls a bit too low down my pants and makes my legs look short? But maybe that’s just a short person/short-legged woe I have to deal with…

seems like the only difference is the length, so yeah I'd go with the M

imo there's not really a difference in how the overshirt or your legs look if you planned to wear stuff like other button downs or sweaters underneath the large might be worthwhile, otherwise i think it's up to your personal preference
