comme des garsons play on Marrkt
I was talking about comme des garsons recently here and today, I checked Marrket and saw a few CDG Play shirts
https://www.marrkt.com/search?type=product&q=*Comme%20des%20garsons%20play*
They’re all £50 which is pretty ok I’d say. I wanted to know if I should get any of this or not, and also to check if it’s legit.
Thanks 🙂

I have nothing to say about the authenticity of CdG on Marrkt. Do these LS's fit with any of your outfit inspo/fits you want to put together? Or are you just looking at it because of the label?
Also do you like them? Like that would be a big start on whether you should get them
and are they within your budget/means?
It’s not only for the label. I can see how I could potentially use these pieces as outfits. My favourite out of this bunch is the black and red one, and I can see myself pairing them with black jeans, or some white corduroys I’ve got for some color contrast.
Even though I did advocate for play in the past I do think your money is better spent on other stuff right now rather than cdg play
I do like them, yeah.
As for budget, I’ve not thought of that 🤔
But I also think particularly, the grey and the striped ones, I could try to make some spring fits with those nearer the time.
Budget isnt always a hard number, but as a fellow student its important to think about money going out vs coming in
Yeah, that’s true. I’ve been a bit… reckless in the past with buying clothes. I’ve spent a fair bit of my loan money on it  so I got a weekend job to help get some money back.
Don't spend money you don't have on clothes
Yeah that’s more of a reason than I’ve ever heard to avoid buying expensive clothes at all costs. Thrifting and ebaying. Also just really gotta get comfortable looking for alternatives to pieces you like that are more generic and cheaper.
you've become interested in cdg play yesterday. I'd say give it some more time before you decide to spend your money on it
the striped shirt is called a breton shirt and you can find them in any decent vintage military surplus store
nanamica makes my favorite version of those
maybe worth checking if they have one second hand on markkt
I got sent this fairly recently lol

How Designer Brands Keep You Poor
They target the poor, not the rich. Buying designer brand products can trap you in a cycle of chasing status, sinking debt, and losing out on the chance to build real wealth. Let's talk about why designer brands will keep you poor.
In this video essay, we're talking about how designer brands, from Hermes to Louis Vuitton to Rolex, are bad for y...
Actually, for the striped shirt, i think I’ve got something similar
The only reason to get something from play is if you really like the logo IMO.
Also consider there's a reason theres a lot of it available second hand
Also consider there's a reason theres a lot of it available second hand
:linkThink:
As for if i like the logo, i think it’s pretty neat.
It’s a cute logo but is it $$$ good
🤔 probably not
Maybe ££ cute but not £££
Yeah I mean it’s not bad to notice you like these shirts that you were browsing, but IMO the best thing to do would be dig into what you liked about them and look for pieces elsewhere that can do the same. You liked the striped shirt, you found one in your closet that’s a good approximation, could also find a generic or just in general cheaper shirt that’s an even closer match if you want.
More money and recognizable branding =/= better
Logos aside, i could probably find generic black and grey T-shirts and shirts within minutes in my wardrobe
Yep yep
Yeah
So all in all, i can skip buying the Marrkt stuff
yea i think so
for now
i think marrkt is a good resource and website to check out tho since you are UK based
A lot of these brands are not strictly bad to be interested in but considering the point in your fashion journey that you’re at (at least how I see it) and also in particular your financial situation, I would strictly avoid
As people like to frequently nudge you to do haha
yeah
They're just normal shirts with a little heart
They're well made too imo but nothing crazy
I think if u like the heart and youre willing to pay more for it, why not. these are very basic longsleeve shirts.
