Polo Ralph Lauren Alternatives

I have recently noticed that I have basically become the Ralph Lauren final boss. Basically all of my sweaters/quarterzips/Sweatshirts are Ralph Lauren. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love Ralph Lauren, but I feel I need to find some alternatives… I really like the clean preppy look but with plain colours like grey, navy, cream and white - see inspo below. I just want a brand that has a similar look/feel (I like thicker clothes). I have pretty broad shoulders but a slimmer waist so usually go L but occasionally size up if it doesn’t fit around shoulders, or size down if it makes me look boxy. Budget max would be something around $400. I’m based in Europe but in Canada right now so brands present either side of the pond are fine (however I do feel like I like the European style) Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why do you want alternatives? If you like PRL it’s fine to just wear PRL. Unless I missed something it sounds like you’re branching out just for the sake of it rather than feeling like you’re in a rut or actually want something different

I agree.... If i could afford them then i wouldn't look anywhere else..... He might be having brand fatigue which can happen with any brand....

I guess it’s somewhat this. I didn’t know if it’s weird to be a someone who basically wears the same brands. Less of being tired of the brand. However I think it would be nice to get some variety in the rotation with some pieces that serve somewhat of a similar vibe but with a slightly different look.

There’s really nothing wrong with sticking to a brand that you like and treats you well! If you want to branch out my advice is generally to not do it via brands but inspiration and see what stuff you like and then find ways to create those looks. Inis meain has a lot of cool knits but they’re out of your price range afaik. Abercrombie will have some stuff you might like

to add to what beans said, prl makes a lot of unbranded stuff so it's not like anyone would be able to tell

also most brands similar to PRL are either ripping off ralph or were ripped off by ralph. brands like beams+ and j.press are (pricey) options but are fairly similar, so is ll bean if you can identify "different look" that can't be achieved by PRL that would help, otherwise like beans said finding inspiration is the way to go.

Appreciate all the advice guys. Also really do like the look of j.press. Next time I’m in New York I will swing by there.
