1 Hz Stutter/Stall
My save has recently developed a 1 Hz stall though overall my CPU is only working at about 48-51%, memory is 29% used, and GPU is 24-28%. I had every game setting on Ultra and backed it off to 60Hz refresh and dialed down some other settings, but they're not making any difference.
I have 50 mods loaded and I suspect its one of them but the ones that have updated since this started are all QoL - like Curve Builder, or Foundations under Rails which just build vanilla parts.
The stall occurs about a second apart, and when it unfreezes the location of moving items like trains seems to be updated. That seems to me to indicate that CPU is recalculating position of objects but they're not being rendered during the pause.
So what am I asking for? First, opinions over whether you think this is CPU or GPU, and if you've run into anything similar and have identified if it was a mod and which one it might be.
I could spend the day disabling them half at a time and narrowing it down, but if anyone has run into this and can narrow the search, I'd appreciate the input. Thanks!

Yes.
I'll try disabling that. Shouldn't be terribly destructive to save because I can always turn it back on and recreate a few bins I've made.
A lot of these mods are Aquila's (Power Poles have Lights, More Beams, Container Screens), but I've had very good luck with them.
Maybe don’t disable, just take its inventory back to yours
I may have overdone the save with FICSMAS, too.
I found if I place a back to production line storage and it has many items in it that don’t have a place to be put in the world eg no machine or storage for that item, then game does indeed develop a low refresh rate
I had something in there and removed it, but it didn't solve the stall.
Hmm that’s all I could suggest based on my experience. If you have any more of the btpl boxes anywhere maybe make sure they’re all empty as this fixed my issue? Do you have any other item teleport mods installed?

No item teleporting. Just PAK utility mod which allows player teleport.
I think it all depends on each players way of playing, some people might not use mods which other players do.
I wouldn’t have thought player teleport would cause an issue, it’s not something I’ve done myself
I'm trying to think in terms of mods that would need to update everything where you might go beyond a tipping point. For example, container screens is obviously iterating through all the containers and updating them. The more you have, the longer it seems to take.
I have FIN installed, but no factories are running Lua code right now.
Ah yes that’s another one, if you have changed the update time and distance to happen more often and from further away that would cause lag, especially if you have it to like every second
I’ve been wanting to use FIN but can’t get my head around LUA, I’ve only ever used IF formula in excel and was hoping it would be easy to implement in satisfactory but nah I’m just too old lol

Most of this stuff is QoL, and several are installed but have no buildables in the save and haven't updated lately. Advanced Logistics is a good example. Fire Smoke and Water was recently updated, but no buildables created with it.
I'm going to restart system and make sure it's not something external.
I see there's a new Game Ready nVidia driver, too.

See I use advanced logistics, I found that causes issues if you set the ratios in a bp and then place it.
Only other things that could cause lag are anything you can use to set the update interval to happen more often, eg skyui but I have that to update every second and it’s not an issue.
Container screens and more is another one, I’ve used that with approx 400+ of the info screens in the world and hasn’t caused an issue.
I’m not fully versed on how shared personal storage works, are you playing multiplayer or single player? I know some mods just don’t play nicely as well.

For containers, I have a warehouse with 800 containers all by itself and it hasn't been a problem to date.
Shared Personal Storage is another Aquila mod, but that shouldn't need to update except when you add/remove something. That makes the same items available in multiple shared containers.
The Container screens is an easy test as they'll go away if I uninstall, but come right back when I reinstall.
I can’t see it been that, what does train station master do?
Do you have the shared personal storage in use? I mean I’m guessing it could be that??
Does glass fluid buffer have an update time? I think I used to use that one and did remove it while testing for another bug, might have to give it another go but I’m wanting to use all fluids are gasses as I’ve had it up to here with the fluid physics lol.
Better grass would obviously use more gpu processing, do you use dlss as I turned it off for a smoother experience. Also dlss was causing visual problems with items on belts.
If you’re wanting to test if it is the container screens just disable the mod instead of removing as that does same job and saves fully removing an otherwise perfect mod

I’m guessing the train master would need to update fairly frequently, but I can only see that being an issue if you have the train master window actually open and not if just prancing around in the world and still experiencing lag, I honestly can’t think of anything else.
I'm restarting the save after reboot now.

There is something about that save, which has a big FICSMAS factory an a lot more MK6 belts that may be causing it.

I only use mk6 belts as like an end of production belt to quickly get produced items to their storage bay. Dunno if that would help, my save is populated with magic splitters and not an issue at all, I’ve not really got to the mega factory point as I keep changing my mind on how to layout something so I just start a new save lol
