Styling feedback, Ivy Edition (Heavy Duty Ivy?): Chinos, hoodie, shirt, jacket
So for this fit I wanted to try out something akin to an ivy look, I’d listened to articles of interests and so I decided to make a fit starting with khakis, from there I chose a shirt which was puffed for the weather, i added a hoodie underneath and finally a jacket (or a shirt? I’m not too sure) on top. How does this all look?

Where are the khakis? This feels much more workwear/streetwear than ivy/rugged ivy/heavy duty ivy to me. I can't see many ivy styling cues.
These were the khakis I was wearing :linkBow:
🤔 how could I make it more ivy styled?
Beige khakis. Maybe an Oxford instead of the plaid.
Might be stating the obvious too, but you don’t need to box yourself entirely into an Ivy look just because some aspect of it appeals to you. This is a good fit even if it’s not Ivy - if you like it, wear it!
I've got beige chinos but not khakis, and i don't know if I have any oxfords
I’d try going with the beige chinos and buttoning up and tucking the flannel if you want it to read ‘rugged ivy.’ Your denim jacket would add to that look
Or your new fleece
The Carhartt one?
Uniqlo
But try the denim jacket first
Oh yeah :linkBow:
will echo the suggestions of this being a good fit that is not traditionally ivy
but honestly purely ivy style in most cases is limiting nowadays unless you're @Dexter
it's fine as a style to learn and get used to things like layering and tailoring but to me its value comes in combining it with non-ivy things
Nothing about this fit really screams ivy to me, partly because of the colors, but going to second what Zeo said and put forth that it can be a good fit without being pure IV
I like limiting 😈
I think it could work as a decent fit that isn't necessary ivy
🤔 what would be the best way to describe it?

i would encourage if you're wanting to explore ivy as an aesthetic to continue listening to the aoi series and then/also look back at take ivy
Take ivy is all you need. Style Bible
And then just following cool ivy people on the gram if you use it. oxfordclothbuttondown, weejawnz, ktl
Aoi is interesting historically but doesn’t really go in depth in specific pieces/ inspo
I think this looks good but it's not ivy
You don't need to fully switch to ivy at once...you can acquire pieces over time that work with that aesthetic, maybe starting with some solid button downs
The boxy OCBD is a classic ivy piece that will be easy to wear with lots of other stuff that isn't directly ivy
