I think some people are stupid
If it fits you well and you like it you should wear it.
Thx, but how do I differentiate between rings for men and women?
There is no real difference. Some designs might be percieved as more feminine than others and are overtly marketed to women but thats it.
As a rule of thumb more filigrane designs are often percieved as feminine and chunkier designs as more masculine. but thats really only a vague rule of thumb.
so this one is a "feminine" ring?
I dont care about that kinda stuff
does it feel feminine to you?
Idk, Im confused. Thatsy why I seek advice here
I think in our postmodern world way too many things are considered unisex, so Im very sceptical
It's for anyone who isn't a coward
Also it's a sick ring
It's a ring, it's an object nothing more. Whether you view it as a more feminine object is up to you. It seems from your initial comment you liked it before people said it was feminine so if you like it wear it
Decorative objects being perceived as "not masculine" is itself a very recent modern societal invention/stigma
That’s a cool ring. As a man, I would wear it
If you think it is a cool ring, and you are a man and you wear it, it’s as masculine as you want it to be
hey just wondering what you mean by this
Reading this in a Kermit voice
Dragon of Chaos, thoughts??? 🐸
Like dresses, etc.
Sorry I still don’t follow
I guess I don’t understand why things being considered unisex could be an issue
god forbid a man wears a dress or a filigreed ring
self-expression is so strongly hindered when you put yourself in a box so arbitrarily gendered you restrict yourself from wearing what you really want to wear
If you're a man wearing it then it's for men, if you're a woman then it's for women. But as far as weird societal coding goes no, it does not strike me as inherently femme. Just because it's not a thick carbon fibre monstrosity doesn't mean you can't wear it as someone who identifies as masculine or a man.
Size. In my experience the main reason to differentiate between men's and women's rings is that women have smaller fingers.
I think it's a cool ring. If you can pull something off depends more on social context and swag.
using size to differentiate doesn't make any sense
it's just a ring. Anyone can wear any ring unless u have 0 swag in which case it'll look like shit
Anytime I’m browsing a site for jewelry and I filter for men’s stuff it just removes anything made of gold
I'm not saying that you shouldn't wear a ring because the size implies it's feminine. I'm saying the gender of the ring tells you a bit about how likely it is to fit.
Unfortunately us men cannot wear gold because it reacts to male skin like sulfuric acid
So true I can’t wear gold(broke)
I also don’t like it but
I also can't wear gold since it would mean taking it away from my giant pile of treasure (dragon)
how? rings are sized by number. It's one of the least gendered sizing systems of anything that exists.
Oh half sizes are feminine and whole sizes are masculine. Hope that helps
Why is it bad that more things are unisex
Gendering clothing is arbitrary
:nooooo: my ring is a 3/4 size am i non binary now
ONE OF US, ONE OF US, ONE OF US
I get asked if I’m gay when I post a picture of myself on Reddit, probably because I look nice lol. Most men don’t put any effort into their own style and grooming like we on here do. I take it as a compliment. I wear and look how I do because it pleases me. I’m not out to assert my masculinity onto anyone else.
also redditors are fucking stupid
I swear that site has gone down the drain. It used to my go to for genuine discussion. I would probably rather read Facebook comments nowadays. Funny how the pendulum swings.
It’s been in the drain for a while
Redditors when they see a guy without a short on the sides long on the top haircut, a beard, big muscles, and wearing just a tight fitting shirt and jeans: “is this a gay man?”
ah yes, because all gay men look a certain way and all straight men look a certain way
