Left side not working
My left side stopped working maybe a month ago. I recently bought a new PCB for it as I couldn't get it working. I'm still having this issue of the left side not working. Not sure where to go from here.

If your left side is not working even after replacing the PCB, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to identify the issue:
1. Check Power: Ensure that the power switch is turned on. You should see the blue LED blink when pressing the reset button, indicating that the nice!nano is receiving power.
2. Verify Connections: Make sure that all connections, especially the battery and nice!nano, are secure. If the battery is not connected properly, the keyboard will not function.
3. Enter Bootloader: Try entering the bootloader by double-tapping the reset button on the nice!nano. If you can't enter the bootloader, try using a different USB cable or device.
4. Inspect Solder Joints: Since the left side is controlled by the nice!nano, check the solder joints on the nice!nano and the PCB. Look for any cold solder joints or shorts between pins.
5. Check for Shorts: Use a multimeter in continuity mode to check for shorts between pins on the nice!nano. Ensure that no pins are connected when they shouldn't be.
6. Firmware Issues: If the hardware seems fine, consider re-flashing the firmware. Follow the steps to install the firmware on the nice!nano to ensure it's up to date.
7. Split Halves Connection: If you're using a split keyboard, ensure that the right half is powered on and connected properly, as the left half communicates with the right half.
If you've gone through these steps and the left side is still not working, it may be helpful to refer to the troubleshooting guide for more detailed steps or to check for any specific issues related to your setup.
I can enter the bootloader and I reflashed both sides. I guess I'll get a multi meter and try to see if there's a short somewhere, despite getting a new PCB, but my niceview on the left is showing my wpm from the right side.
Is it not working as in it's not outputting anything? @Nealium have you tried over USB?
Correct. The right side will type stuff out, not left. I was not aware typing over usb was an option, I'll give that a shot.
Also merry Christmas to you. I appreciate your help.
Yes, i confirmed that plugging the two together, or the left to whatever source also does not work.
Although I've noticed the blue light doesn't come on the left side either. Maybe it's the nice nano
oh, do not plug them in together, haha
this is expected
I don't understand how the right side will type stuff out? that doesn't seem right
overall... this isn't adding up 🤔
the right side connects to the left, left side connects to the host either via bluetooth or via usb
the blue light will not turn on the left side unless you're in the bootloader (which you probably aren't)
Yeah it's strange. The left side's nice view even responds to typing from the right side, and i can see the nice view report when the right raises to the next layer of keys. I'm going to take it apart after Christmas and see if taking it all from the top will work.
Maybe a slightly cold solder on the negative? I'm not sure.

I'm going to try without the aluminum case with just a few keys.
Not working. I ordered a new nice nano a day or two ago as it's the only thing I can really replace at this point. Already did a new PCB.
Ok let me know what you find. I've never had a nano behave this way
:thunk: real strange one
so I got the new nano in today. I spent a bit of time trying to figure out how to make the reset firmware, but after I got them reset and reflashed, everything is fine. In retrospect, I probably should've tried doing that on the other nano, but I guess an extra doesn't hurt
I appreciate your help. Thank you.
