Project Dapper
Good Evening everybody, i will keep it brief, i am looking for a long Wool Double Breasted Overcoat for winter, i have had little to no luck finding any in Europe which weren't absurdly priced, i would kindly ask if someone could guide me what to look for and how to detect if the quality of the overcoat is good or bad.

Absurdly priced is not a useful metric. The following would be helpful in giving you good advice:
a: A concrete budget
b: is secondhand okay or not?
c: pics of coats you like, because even within the double breasted coat space there is plenty of variation
Post a number, presumably in euros that you're willing to spend. Otherwise pay the duties on this and have a great coat for a reasonable price: https://www.sehkelly.com/shop/coats/british-warm/british-warm-in-woollen-hopsack-in-middling-sheep/
S.E.H Kelly
British warm in woollen hopsack in middling sheep — S.E.H Kelly

S.E.H Kelly
Ulster in Donegal tweed in forest green — S.E.H Kelly
Long, double-breasted coat, made in London, with dark green merino lambswool tweed from County Donegal, and horn buttons from the Cotswolds.
you can also check for vintage armani collezioni
I would say almost definitely buy vintage. Prices on new overcoats are either low and shit quality, or high and will last your lifetime. Used you should be able to find a good quality one for between €75 and €125
i apologise for my hasty question i was under a time limit having to pick up my family members from the city i have more tile to elaborate, firstly to answer your criteria's
A. the Budget would be around 120 euros or 130 dollars which ever you prefer
B. second hand is ok even if there is mild patchwork to be done
C. i will provide imaged of some coats i favor more in a moment
Thrift shops and charity shops will likely have some
€120-€130 should do you well. Ebay would probably be your best bet imo
are you located in a big city and if so which one
something similar to this coat but far longer to properly cover my knees
I got a secondhand wool coat (Balmacaan not double breasted fwiw) here in Ireland for €140 last year, there are plenty of equivalents knocking around eBay for the same price.
i live close to a big city but i am uncertain if there are any thrift/second hand clothing stored in it and if so if they have such clothing
filter by categories -> fashion -> men’s clothing -> men’s coats, jackets and waistcoats and then you’ll want to filter by materials too
understood i will be back in 5 to 10 minutes with my results
if its a capital city then they will have and if its amsterdam, paris or london i can give you some pointers
on where to look
make sure to filter by used. there’s a load of dropped shipped crap on there
no it is not thankfully, i wouldn't be able to make heads or tails in such a vast metropolis the city i am close to has at best 20k people in it
very well i will account for that right away
try vinted tbh, thats the most commonly used website for european second hand clothing and has the best deals. like deltic said you can filter
yeah i’d say ebay for both vintage and second hand or vinted for just second hand. depop too
i will do that as soon as i am done browsing a few options on ebay 👍
I'd search for Dunhill, bally, armani collezioni
https://www.vinted.nl/items/3957940677-manteau-homme-dunhill here's a brown one that i really liked from dunhill thats in ur price range
Manteau Homme Dunhill
Il est fait de 70% de laine et 30% de cachemire
Taille 50, couleur Camel
Il Un st en tr s bon état, avec un léger accroc sur la manche
insane quality as well its actually such a steal lol
I'm not OP but I'm curious about your pointers with paris @gv
Brut would be easiest to start with if you are looking for double breasted overcoat. Ale is nice and has a good selection of curated vintage, Fursac also make stuff like this but new.
