DH settings I presume? Can you name some examples? Does it also happen if you run the game with just DH active?
Yeah DH setings, pretty much none of these work for example
and this one consistently keeps getting reset to custom no matter what I change it to
They don't work as in you can't toggle them? Nothing happens if you click on them?
yeah nothing happens when pressed
That's a known bug, you can ignore it. The setting doesn't actually change
Very strange. And I presume it works fine on DH 2.2.1?
Couldn't really test DH 2.2.1 because of completely different issues relating to a shader
Seems like some of these get their functionality back with shaders off
so maybe the shader is affecting it somehow?

Because stuff like ambient occlusion, fog and noise are controlled by the shader when shaders are active
then that might be the case yeah
however I noticed another odd thing too
in singleplayer worlds it works pretty fine for the most part, except the options not really working bug we just talked about
but in servers the quality is awful no matter what I change

Are you maybe talking about the LODs being a bit blurry?

on singleplayer worlds, trees at that distance are still quite sharp
on servers it degrades to just the color of the block
Weird that it only does that on servers. You have iris installed? If so, try removing it, or enabling shaders
And the blurry ness should be gone

without DH those trees don't even appear
No it's caused by SSAO not updating correctly
If you turn off SSAO (while shaders are disabled) you'll see the fussiness goes away

Yep, but now you see why SSAO is generally a good feature when it's not misbehaving
The LODs look very flat now
So I recommend you to either turn on shaders and keep them on, or remove iris
unfortunately my shaders require iris so I suppose I gotta keep the shaders on lol

Well yes, if you lower the render distance the lower quality terrain will render closer

the server's render distance was like 5 chunks lol
