Whats the best DH settings to balance visuals and performance?
Ive seen a couple youtube guides but they didnt help much, my hardware is a RX 6700 XT with a Ryzen 7 5700X and 32gb of ram. I would like to know what would be the best settings for DH to get the highest render distance i can, with shaders and still keeping a 60+ fps average. I think Default is okay but im sure theres a way to get more out of it. If you guys know any good looking and easy to run shaders with DH please list them here.

Your first step would be to pregenerate a bunch of LODs by turning up cpu load in DH's settings and waiting, basically until you're tired of waiting or are satisfied with the distance it has generated.
After that, turn down the cpu load and turn down the quality preset in Dh's settings until you achieved your desired framerate
i have these 2 set quite low
and its still stuttering a little bit while running around generating new chunks
How much ram did you allocate to Minecraft?
should i change some minecraft/sodium settings or set this a bit lower, maybe 96 or 64 chunks? or do i set the quality preset and cpu load to absolute minimum to get less stutters? the fps is fine
22gb
You can try adjusting some normal settings yea, like the normal render distance
well its 16 chunks
You can leave that at 128
That's probably too much, try 12
Try 12, see if it improves
thats a little odd
And you can try limiting your fps
It'll fix itself eventually
oh yeah 12 is way better
i saw a guide saying i should use 8 but i think 8 is just too low
8 also works fine for most people
this setting increases the quality of the fake chunks right?
and it only uses the gpu?
Yes
Mostly, I think
well then it seems like i found some decent settings
Nice!
thanks for the help
Np!
with 10 chunks render distance
Solution
and these settings
it looks decent far away and i can run and generate chunks 60+ fps with almost 0 stutters
with some sicc shaders
it looks fine to me
and my pc does not scream as hard as when running stalker 2
i have a suggestion tho
if the mod developer wants to and has the time, maybe have some sort of section in the mod description where it shows specific settings to common low to high end setups
basically like a system requirements kind of thing
im sure theres enough people in the community here with a lot of different hardware combos running DH at very different settings
There are not really system requirements. If you don't get enough fps, you can turn down the settings until you do
well anyway ty cya
