Levi's 501 Selvedge 74% Cotton 26% Hemp
This seems bad to, like I should want 100% cotton but I am incorrect? Is there a downside to this blend?

One of my nicest pair of jeans is a cotton/hemp blend. Hemp has amazing potential as a clothing material. If levis was looking for cost cutting they would just use a poly/cotton blend - there are legitimate reasons to use hemp
Typically hemp is a bit lighter than cotton with better drape, almost like a heavyweight linen. There are supposedly environmental benefits as well vs cotton but I don't know how valid or significant they are
I don't know where levis sources their hemp but their site says they "cottonize" their hemp to make it virtually indistinguishable from cotton, whatever that means
I would expect it to have a neppier texture and drape slightly differently, maybe be slightly lighter. But its presence in the material composition is no indicator of quality at all
I have the type I jacket with this fabric, and it's really nice. Hemp has some superior qualities to cotton such as strength and insulation.
yeah levi's hemp is nice, it's usually kinda neppy. i have a levis denim/hemp trucker and it just looks like denim.
