add
-DPaper.IgnoreJavaVersion
before -jar in your startup flagsCan i then run java 17 plugins?
that'll allow the to server start with java 17
I run Paperspigot 1.8 will it work?
Sorry but i am pretty new to all this server stuff.
😂
should work, the flag might've been named something else in 1.8
why don’t you just update your god damn game

How old is Minecraft 1.8.9 today?
Minecraft 1.8.9 is 9 years, 3 days old.
some part of the community still complains about modern knockback not feeling the same, specially for fishing rod and blockhitting, even when using plugins like OldCombatMechanics
fortunately they're less each year, but some server owners still want to give them what they want
always found curious how they don't get bored after playing the same style of pvp for almost 10 years at this point :thonk:

screw then they can get over it
I get the feeling, but they haven't got over it in 10 years :/
Doesn't help that launchers like badlion or lunar clients, even if they support modern versions, kind of still encourage the use of 1.8
So even newer players get used to legacy pvp
force them to!
they can’t play on 1.8 if you can’t join the server on that version
Would be funny ngl :kekw_dog:
But they'll probably will go to hypixel, that still runs on 1.8
