2 keys not working and one seems to output wrong character
Hello there, I seem to be having an issue with the right half bottom row. I've replaced switches a few times but the two keys corresponding to the
, and .
on the default layout are non-responsive. Also, the 5th column bottom row is outputting .
on the default layout, but would expect it to be /
Any ideas how to troubleshoot this and resolve?

It sounds like you're experiencing a couple of issues that are likely related to hardware, specifically with the soldering or connections on your keyboard. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:
1. Check the Switches: Since you've already replaced the switches, ensure that the pins on the switches are straight and properly inserted into the hotswap sockets. If the pins are bent, they may not make contact.
2. Inspect the Hotswap Sockets: Sometimes, the pressure contacts on the back of the hotswap sockets can be bent. Remove the plate or case and gently bend the gold contacts to ensure they make proper contact with the switches.
3. Check the Diodes: Each switch has a diode associated with it. Make sure the diodes for the non-responsive keys are soldered correctly and in the right orientation. If they are cracked or poorly soldered, they may need to be re-soldered.
4. Solder Joints: Inspect the solder joints on the nice!nano for the pins corresponding to the non-responsive keys. If any joints look cold or poorly connected, reheat and add solder as necessary.
5. Check for Shorts: Use a multimeter in continuity mode to check for shorts between the pins. Ensure that no two pins are connected when they shouldn't be.
6. Firmware Check: If the hardware checks out, consider checking your firmware. Ensure that the keymap is set up correctly for the keys in question. You can refer to the ZMK documentation for guidance on customizing your keymap.
7. Reset the Keyboard: If all else fails, try resetting the keyboard by pressing the reset button on the nice!nano. This can sometimes resolve odd behavior.
If you've gone through these steps and the issues persist, it may be best to consult the troubleshooting documentation for further guidance. Good luck!
Ah ignore - I assumed the keymap was similar to the 6 column on base layer. seems it may be outputting CTRL and META keys. Will confirm once I get home 😅
Sounds good! Let me know what you find
Yep user error 😅
all working fine after updating keymaps
