(APAC) - Pakistan latency problems towards Mumbai
Getting 100+ to 150+ ping in Singapore & Mumbai servers, This started happening recently (2 days ago). Called my broadband and they said nothing changed from their side. so Is this issue happening for everyone or me.
Yesterday the ping in Behrain Servers was also over 150 for some reason.

I personally don't have any ping issues and I play on mumbai servers
also you seem to play on EU servers , bahrain. So idts that issue translates to APAC servers as well. Mumbai servers use Riot Direct, not AWS
As far I know, there haven't been any server side wide spread issues from Riot, in APAC servers atleast . If at all there is an issue, it's most likely from the Client's ISP

it just started happening randomly 3 days ago, It was fine before that. I am getting 100+ ping in singapore servers (i was getting 60-70) and around 150+ in Mumbai Servers (was 40-50)
there was an issue like this before, and I had to send all the info to him, its still the same.

also there are no issues with mumbai servers

people like me living natively in the corresponding region, have not faced any serious ping issues on mumbai servers
i have a question, why are the servers region locked instead of on the basis where people get the least ping like indians on sydney get 300+ ping but its still there on the server lists but indians also get 57 ping on bahrain servers but 2 separate accounts have to be made to play on india and bahrain and either way both countries r in asia but bahrain is still in the eu region
if the region lock is based on the assumption that people will join servers where they get high ping w the sole purpose to troll, ppl can already do that because of the weird distribution of servers in a specific region
nd the vice versa goes for middle easterns, they get around 30-50 ping on india server
The way I see it , any server that routes its internet via AWS has been affected , therefore affecting the latencies. @Kenji-San Please confirm this speculation if possible

Bahrain is on AWS edge, I think there was a transit ISP between them which was causing latency to spike due to longer route

I remember a riot dev asking someone to ping that IP someday when the user had issues with singapore servers. Obviously for diagnostics purposes
in my case, it does solidify as to the latency towards the singapore server
the ones that end at .1 are old ones and they won't really give you a real result

riot is most likely aware of this issue, just wait some time.
Bahrain is not in riot direct which means riot has basically no control over it, all they can do is talk with AWS and ISPs atm

problem here is that your ISP have 0 presence in India and they have to use upstreams to get there... this is a problem as none are located in Mumbai, route then takes long path via Singapore as its the only way.

Bahrain server is managed by AWS, and recently they made changes/updates that caused the routing issue
But you are referring to dubai* server from Pakistan which is completely a different issue than that of Bahrain

Might take some time, again it’s the individual ISP issue and out of riot’s hand, the most they can do is contact the isp and tell them how to fix this issue

alright so... ether your Pakistani ISPs will get some presence in India ( Mumbai preferably ) or this wont change, Pakistan upstream providers are not very flexible for India pathing so this is a problem. Currently we as Riot do not have a physical connection between Mumbai and Dubai, that might change in future.
so my suggestion is that we have to look into this in individual ISP level, such as Cybernet folks can play on Dubai with about 45ms ping and ME1 shard for League with about 55ms. I check PTCL and Nayatel now, but this wont get fixed overnight sorry folks

ok I am doing some additional investigation into this, I made a mistake and we actually have a link between Mumbai and Dubai, but its currently not functioning due to a provider fault. let me get back to this once that is resolved and people from Dubai to Mumbai should be able to play with lower latency again

They kind of can. Most Valorant servers run on Riot Direct, which is Riots own network infrastructure. If your ISP peers with Riot Direct, Riot has more control over the routing, which can improve your connection and reduce lag. However, the Bahrain servers use AWS and not Riot Direct, so the same level of control over routing may not apply there.
