SMM issue
Hey guys,
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but personally I can't find this issue with fix anywhere..
I just wanted to get into Ficsmas and my game kept crashing on load so I troubleshoot which mod might cause the issue. After having done that, I had to restart my computer because of some other issue and since then I get the following message when starting SMM:
Failed to initialize ficsit-cli: failed to initialize ficsit-cli: failed to initialize profiles: failed to unmarshal profiles: invalid character ‘\x00’ looking for beginning of value
I’ve tried removing the mods from steamapps > common > Satisfactory > FactoryGame > Mods and I’ve tried uninstalling SMM (for which I couldn’t really find a good fix other than deleting everything). After downloading the setup.exe again and installing SMM, I get the same error.
Can someone please help? Thanks in advance

failed to get lockfile: failed parsing lockfile: invalid character '\x00' looking for beginning of value
Your profile's lockfile has somehow became corrupted. Delete the
something-lock.json
file with your profile's name from your game install directory.

That's for the profiles, not the lockfile
So the message should contain information about restoring profile info
Let me grab the message I used last time

Wow quick replies haha, I'm unsure what I should do now though

Something has caused your profile file to become corrupted. Please send the files you have in your Mod Manager profiles folder It may be possible to recover them, but if not, you will have to delete them.
You can try to find out what mods the profile used to have in a few ways:
- Your save file keeps track of the mods you were using. Loading it while missing mods will produce a warning message and messages in the game's log files.
- Mod manager log files may mention the names of mods you were downloading

I can't seem the find the files you want me to send. I have put my installed mods in a folder on my desktop as backup. How can I go about deleting the profile file if I can't find it?
can you send a screenshot of what the profiles folder contains?
So this is appdata>local>SMM
And this is appdata > roaming
Looks like the docs aren't updated
Solution
The path is
%appdata%\ficsit\profiles.json
for the profilesThere it is, so delete it?
Yeah
And its back up
Thanks for the help!👍
