Got a camel hair coat thinking its a wool coat, what should I know about camel hair?
I was looking to thrift a wool coat (and so the filter was on wool) then I realized the coat I ended up buying is camel hair, not sure if that makes it better or worse, warmer or colder, more expensive or cheaper? Not sure if this makes a difference but its by Scabal

camel hair on average is usually more expensive
i'd treat it the same as any other wool coat
Camel hair / wool is on the rarer and more expensive side of wools. It's way more durable than sheep and cashmere wool and really soft aswell. It's warmer than other types of wool and way lighter due to hollow structure of the fibers. It's the best type of wool you can have for a coat. The only real disadvantage is the high price point
It's similar to cashmere/alpaca/yak, etc. Aka it's warm and soft.
Oh I see, the coat I thrifted was for around 70 euros from Scabal, which is what I was willing to pay for a wool coat to begin with
