Performance Mode causes CPU to reach 90°C

Hey guys. I’ve been looking at the temps for my rig that i’ve been running with Bazzite for a while now. I’m very happy with it so far, but I’m running into a bit of an issue. It seems either my cooling isn’t working as it should, or my room is really not well ventilated enough, or both. Maybe there are other factors at play too. Anyway, I run a lot of different emulations, and Rpcs3 specifically requires a lot of performance from the CPU. It’s here where I notice the cpu temps reaching up to 90°C in temperature. Now this could definitely be an issue with the cooler I have installed currently, but before I go buying a new AIO, I just want to know if there’s anything else I should/could try to stabilise the temperature? I unfortunately can’t accurately monitor the fan speed with a GUI like ICUE (all my fans are corsair). Any suggestions?

Cooler control supports most all Corsair products We have a ujust to install it Depending on your hardware 90C might be normal, lots of laptops will push as high as 100C before throttling That being said if you're concerned about the temps the best option is probably to get better cooling and not to try to limit your hardware in software Lastly, if this hardware is at all modern I would stick to balanced. Performance mode can actually harm your performance in games

So ultimately I should just get a better cooler? Would I let the coolers just do their work then or should I regulate the temperature another way that isn’t via software? (Like BIOS?)

Cooler control is the best in my opinion I would give it a spin now before you do anything

Understood. I’ll see what I can do and report back when I can Thank you for the quick and informative feedback

Actually, it’s worth mentioning that even using Balanced has the temperature shoot up to about 80-90. Also a cooler issue?

Yeah no matter what it's going to come down to what hardware you have versus how you're cooling it Just no need to make it worse with performance mode

Got it, thanks
