Handling Multiple Dimensions (Fabric)?
Hi everyone, kinda new to server management since I'm just starting the setup on my first fabric server, when playing online I always see Servers that have a Spawn "world" and a wilderness "world", which are connected seamlessly by commands like /spawn or /rtp. What are the best ways and tools to set that up? Also wanting to set it up like in the example so just 2 worlds right now.
Thanks in advance

Seems like the most popular option, it just looked like an option more for thinking about networking multiple servers but if it works even for this then I will give it a shot
If you haven't got the resources available for multiple servers then maybe a paper (or fork of) using Multiverse-core would be an option. Works for me as I have one server running paper that has a lobby, smp, and a creative plots world.
I have the need for even less than that, a mini spawn area and a wild/smp world, I'm running fabric since the majority of the modpack runs on that, I tried using Cardboard since it should allow for Bukkit and Spigot support but it kept conflicting with the plugin which I use for homes, tps and rtps (HuskHomes), so idk if working out how to use both would allow me to Multiverse-core
Well I also run the huskhomes plugin too. My advise would be to ditch fabric and use paper then youβll be able to use both multiverse and huskhomes. Iβd also suggest LuckPerms too to manage player permissions.
I need to use fabric mods tho, is it easier to just use Paper and figure out how to use Fabric Mods there? Because I have no choice on this matter and since there is a whole modpack that needs to be run with all Fabric Mods
Try and find the equivalent plugin for each mod then players wonβt have to install anything. If this is not possible then Iβd still recommend using paper as itβs easier to manage in my experience. You can then have any client side mod(s) available to download from your discord or point players to tue mod pack if itβs available as a whole on say Modrinth or whatever.
I will try to find an equivalent of Multiverse-core for Fabric, since the main mods change the whole game and aren't supported if it's not Fabric or Forge (which I won't use), thanks anyway for the options
No worries. Hope you get it sorted.
!multiverse
Multiverse alternatives
To get full-functionality out of Multiverse, you need 4 total plugins installed on your server:
Multiverse-Core
, Multiverse-Portals
, Multiverse-NetherPortals
, and Multiverse-Inventories
.
Alternatively, you can use MyWorlds, which provides full feature-rich functionality by itself. The commands, documentation, and configuration are much easier to understand.
Many plugins that provide terrain generation and other multi-world features like Terra recommend using MyWorlds as opposed to Multiverse.
Furthermore, MyWorlds worlds store player data the same way that Vanilla worlds do, making migration to and from extremely easy. MyWorlds will handle the migration from Multiverse for you without any commands or re-configuration. Simply install MyWorlds, start your server, then stop it and remove Multiverse.
If MyWorlds is slow to update, another notable option is PhantomWorlds which offers a similar set of features and stability.Admincraft Canned Responses
!hybrid
Please Avoid Hybrid Servers
Please avoid using server software that combines both mod and plugin APIs, such as Mohist, Magma, Cauldron, Thermos, CatServer, Cardboard, and others. These server software clash, as Bukkit was made for plugins and Forge for mods. Mixing them requires significant changes to the Bukkit API and Forge server code. If not done correctly, both plugins and mods can act strangely. Using these will almost guaranteed cause strange issues that make it near-impossible to assist.
If you are running 1.8 or 1.16.5, a good alternative to these is SpongeForge, a well-engineered solution that allows running Sponge plugins alongside Forge mods. Many Bukkit plugins also have Sponge ports.
