[solved] Large battery for corne
looking to use a bigger battery for the corn wireless.
It doesnt look like it would fit between the pcb and bottom fr4 plate based on the 3d builder, would i be able to fit the 750mAh battery if i got longer standoffs? if so what size standoffs would work with the 750mAh battery?
Tia!

Using a larger battery like the 750mAh in the Corne Wireless can be challenging due to space constraints. The standard battery size for the Corne is 301230 (3.0mm x 12mm x 30mm), and while a 750mAh battery may fit with longer standoffs, it’s important to ensure that the battery does not interfere with other components or the overall structure of the keyboard.
To accommodate a 750mAh battery, you would likely need to use standoffs that are significantly longer than the standard ones. However, the exact size of standoffs required can vary based on the specific dimensions of the battery you choose.
A common approach is to measure the height of the 750mAh battery and add a bit of extra space for clearance. For example, if the battery is around 5mm thick, you might consider standoffs that are at least 10-15mm longer than the standard ones to ensure a proper fit.
Keep in mind that modifying the standoffs may affect the stability and alignment of the keyboard, so proceed with caution. It’s also advisable to check the dimensions of the battery and the available space in the case before making any modifications.
since the 750mah batttery is 4mm thick, something like m2 12mm would work considering the standoffs that come with the sandwich case is 7mm? will be adding some foam between battery and pcb to keep things from getting damaged. the standoffs in the sandwich case are female/female?
yes they’re female female
12mm should work in theory
try to add some foam between the battery and the parts
don’t want to have it poked
I’ll try that out, thanks @Nick !
