No blue light on power cycle or reset
Left side of my keyboard, the top mounted switch broke, i am still able to move it with a knife, but no power.
When I plug in to usb with the power switch in on position: Brief orange light for a few seconds, no blue.
When I plug in with power switch in off position: Very short orange light, longer flashing blue light.
In either case, the keyboard works while plugged in, and the right side can connect wirelessly.
The left side does not respond to anything without usb plugged in, can be used plugged in, but cannot be reset, or reset to bootloader.
Even when I cycle power using a knife, no flashing lights, when I do the same on the working (right side) brief blue flash ( to signal connenction?)
Have had no issues with the keyboard previously (had it about 1y8m) did a shit solder job but the contacts dont look too horrible, no multimeter (yet).
Love my keys, able to use them, but want to restore them to flashable and bluetooth glory π

Struggling to upload video exampel cause 10mb limit, can compress and export if the behaviour isnt clear. Im surprised i get different behaviour with the broken switch on or off, battery seems charging, yet reset button never works.
Ofc id also like to fix the switch π but ill settle for being able to flash run
fyi am in EU, if theres a eu side distributor for, would be happy to order there

Power Switch
Original Alps miniature SPDT switch. This is the same power switch we use in our kits. 2 Switches per pack. ο»ΏDatasheet
switch looks off in this picture π€
when did it stop working on battery?
It was a weird chain of events: switch broke, was working on BT, eventually stopped connecting on Bluetooth, Iβve been using it wired since then. Now that Iβve gone to investigate, I realise it may have been more than a Bluetooth issue, but a power issue
I can confirm yes in the pictures that switches in the off position. Iβve tested in both on an off position a couple times this morning
Shouldβve fixed the power switch the moment it broke then it would be easier to triage this ha ha sorry
off position
on position
it looks like it's working with the power switch on tbh?
maybe I'm missing something
I think the reset button might have broke
in which case you'll need to short reset and ground twice to get to bootloader
Ill try shorting, would make sense if they're both broken, small components next to eachother
the other thing thats unusual though: when i use a knife to toggle the power without a cable plugged in, i dont get a short blue flashing light, both left and right side usually should flash blue for a moment when powered on right?
no i lied
it does flash blue on power on, and shorting grnd to reset easily works to reset or get into bootloader
so a broken reset switch it is, likely broke the same time as when i lost the nib to the power switch
thanks for the help @Nick ill look for the parts listed on your site in EU, and if I fail just add components or get myself one of those pretty aluminium cases till i hit free shipping π
appreciate the speedy responses!
typeractive really reduced the barrier to entry of ergo split for me :))
