[UNSOLVED] Splitters and mergers disappear at random
Recently after updating my game to 1.0.1.0 and launching it with my mods enabled, random objects of the same type will all vanish from my save whenever I load it. Normally when something like this happens I just remove whatever the offending mod is, but in this case I have no way of knowing since the objects that get deleted are completely different every time. The first time it happened all of my MK.I power poles got deleted, the second (most recent) time it happened all of my splitters got deleted. Another thing to note is that none of the respective wire or belt connections between each object were removed. And to top it all off sometimes certain objects would just cease the exist the moment you tried building them, like in the case of newly-placed splitters.
In addition to the random disappearance of certain objects, I've also noticed that when I use the
Middle-Mouse Button
to quick-select something, the hologram simply won't render for that object. What makes it strange is the fact that it only happens when copying FICSIT Foundations or Ramps (I haven't tested the other Foundation materials or variants since I don't have them unlocked), as there hasn't been a single Machine, Belt, or Pipe that's had this issue.
I have no idea what mod is causing all of this to happen but it's certainly very inconvenient to deal with. Fortunately I at least know it's a mod causing this to happen since when I disabled SMM's integration into the game via the app's "Mods off" button all of the above issues were fixed, so at least this isn't an issue with the base game. If anyone is experiencing something similar, react to this post with a ❗ instead of filling the comments with redundant info.18 Replies
Possible solution found
If you're encountering the issues I've described above, try the following steps:
0. Close Satisfactory if it's open
1. Disable SMM Integration by clicking the "Mods off" button in the SMM app
2. Launch Satisfactory
3. Once you've arrived at the Main Menu, close Satisfactory
4. Enable SMM Integration by clicking the "Mods on" button in the SMM app
5. Launch Satisfactory again and load a save from the session you were experiencing issues with
For whatever reason, doing this seems to fix the issues I described, although more testing may be required to see if this solution actually lasts.
Unfortunately, while this didn't fix the invisible hologram bug, it did seem to fix the disappearing objects issue for me.
same here
Bug is still occurring, with it being just as inconsistent as before. If anyone can identify the cause please post it here.
I forgot to do this before but here's my mod list
Post your mod list here so I can see what we have in common
Did you disable or remove any mods after sending the message I replied to?
no, i booted the game yesterday (last time i played) with these mods active, and got the bug again (MK1 power pole disappeared, rebooted the game power pole was back but beams lost original length)
i just keep rebooting the game with these same mods until i get a playsession that doesnt have too many bugs
Disable
Persistent Paintables
and see if it still happens.i cant test it right now, but asap i will and come back to you with an answer
Hello, today the same bug occurred in my game. I tried disabling persistent paintables (and autolink), but no luck—mergers were still invisible (even without those mods). I restarted the game two more times, and magically, they came back.
Previously, I had similar problems, but with random (vanilla) structures—like walls with doors (vanilla autodoor), wall power outlets, beams...

Do you have
Build Gun Utilities
installed and enabled?Yes...
From the pause menu or the main menu, go to
Mods > BuildGun Utilities
and make sure the Move Buildable Feature
is turned off.I have turned off all additional features. I use this mod only for the info boxes.
Does the bug still occur after loading a save?
No, but it’s not related to those settings—I haven’t touched them since I started this save (I configured the mods the way I needed when starting a new world save).
These bugs appear randomly during my gameplay, just like in the previous save. The issues started showing up after the patch introducing the Ficsmass update (1.0.1?).
tried without Persistent Paintables and still got some bugs, in this case was that when i build a beam it loses the built lenght (no colision on the missing part)
