Realtek 5Gb lan cannot be detected under Bazzite 41
New build pc just for Bazzite, with MB Asrock X870E Taichi lite the lan port cannot be found with Bazzite, which confirmed good with a crosscheck with Windows installations.
I am new to archlinux. Tried to install R8126-10.013.00 but fail.
Any hint?

my guess is that this motherboard and nic so so new the drivers are not in the kernel yet or asrock used a nic that requires an out of tree module that might break other nics
@XIII I have the same board, it will be supported in kernel 6.12 as far as I can tell. Fedora mainline will be testing that kernel next week and releasing probably the following week
Good news is that everything else works on the board in the meantime
Good to know. Not learn how to install patch on archlinux yet. Specially on something relate to kernal, didn't want to screw up.
Are you using arch for a different install or something? You would probably have access to 6.12 there if so. On bazzite you can’t upgrade kernel on your own since it’s built on an immutable fedora base
I am just use Bazzite iso to install. Moving from ChimeraOS. Wanna have a better freedom on the desktop mode.
So far i feel better on Bazzite, but still some bugs like black screen on switching desktop and game mode, suddenly reboot which not ever happen with ChimeraOS. 😅
@XIII In case you're still on bazzite and using coolercontrol, i realized i didn't have full control of fans in my x870e taichi lite mobo, fixed it via
sudo modprobe nct6775
, which loads enough to do full fan control for all headers but isn't the actual correct module for this board (nct6686) but is good enough for now anyway. to make permanent: echo "nct6775" | sudo tee /etc/modules-load.d/nct6775.conf
thanks for the info, still using simple air cool, thermalright ax120r se no complaint atm. 🙂 may check if moving to higher end models.
Yeah if you have case fans hooked up too you can control them with cooler control
