Looking for Chore Coat brands
Hi all - I'm looking for advice on brands for a chore coat or a similar style jacket. Budget = $200-$400. I live in the Bay Area and I'm looking for a jacket thats going to work thrown over a t shirt or a button down in ~50-60 degree weather. I'd prefer to be able to try them on in person but would be willing to buy online if theres a good return policy. I'm 6'3 215 with an athletic build (48" shoulders, 42" Chest 33" Waist) looking for something not super boxy/baggy but relatively classic/neutral. Its not super urgent but if I can give suggestions to people for Xmas that would be cool. If not, I can always buy it for myself.

For many years the jacket of choice for all blue-collar workers, we have our own silhouette, the Bakers Jacket, inspired by founder David's father who was a Baker, and part of the very first collection. Over the years we've developed many silhouettes inspired by this iconic jacket, with new additions to our collection
Yarmouth oil skins has some good options. I bought one used that does not fit me, but the quality is nice, and it feels very durable. I would size up if you are in between sizes, I have similarly large shoulders. I have heard good things about Le Mont St Michel but don't have any first-hand experience.

This tellason coverall jacket is pretty well renowned in raw denim spaces.

That's a great looking jacket although a selvedge jacket like that will definitely read differently than a classic chore coat
True! I think its one of the coolest “chore” jackets out there and before you ask ofc its the pockets. I managed to get a garment dyed one in yellow secondhand and its honestly one of my faves. Nevertheless, I get your point
don't get me wrong i really like it lol
Get a Le Laboureur, best in the game imo
Fleur de Bagne
You can also find very good vintage moleskin chore coats within the budget you mentioned

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll check them out

When TCB starts a new project, a new meeting with a great vintage piece is always the trigger for us. Something I saw through show windows that I couldn't afford or some special vintage jeans that movie stars wore, etc. So, basically I look back at the clothings of my longing and I reproduce the items that I've longed
