Blazers as an upgrade
My work attire is mostly casual boots, Chinos and solid color short sleeves, will a blazer be a good addition? I spend 50% of my work out in the sun and I have to attend meetings often.
I've worked in a factory for 15 years, and just recently landed a management job, it's a step up for me. So I won't be wearing Overalls, safety shoes or jeans and uniforms anymore.

Blazers could fit into a business casual wardrobe like you describe
The trick will be getting one that you like and looks good with your other stuff, can be a bit harder than it looks
If you find one that you’re thinking of buying, you can post it here and we can take a look.
I'll do that
I'll post it here once I have a pair
Short sleeve tees or button downs?
A blazer sounds great for you but I’d try to avoid short sleeve button downs
short sleeve button downs
its comfortable when I'm out and about
I live near the equator, so it's always warm or humid and warm
Ah I see well if it’s comfortable and you feel good in it you should keep wearing it!
I'm thinking of getting black colored blazer, will that work?
black is maybe the one color I wouldn't do
It wouldn’t
I feel like a textured navy or brown blazer would be good though
Do you still have be on site sometimes?
If you do, cotton chinos in shades of brown or other forgiving colors with dirt and blue shirts, probably chambray for straddling dress and workwear, with a darker blue or mid grey wool hopsack with a quarter or butterfly lining for the heat
Button down collars are great, too. It's very tricky to dress middle road so you aren't sticking out on site or in the office
on site in the mornings, meetings in the afternoon
hmm, only 2 of my chinos are brownish, the rest are black, shades of black, or charcoal black
black chinos with navy blue blazer, what do you think?
I think of you mostly wear black pants you could look into a grey sports coat
Perhaps in a black / grey patterned fabric, like herringbone, houndstooth or check
But yes—you can definitely wear black pants with a blue sports coat, as long as they’re not too close in color. You’d want a blue that can contrast with black and look intentional.
I guess grey would work
I think you can just get navy if you like it
I just wanted to throw some more options out there
I've been reading in some sites
grey and black looks nice
navy and black looks abit too close?
Navy and black is a hard one to do, it'll be very dependent on texture/saturation/etc
If you could find a good mid grey, that'll go with black, most browns, most blues.
What shoes/boots will you be wearing?
I have two pairs of blacks
both mid cut boots, it's comfy for me
maybe I'll get a pair of Derby shoes in brown next paycheck
black shoes are good
Black is good, if you're on site alot I'd recommend a dark brown derby boot in a robust leather. Grant stone's diesel on a danite, parkhurst in one of their nice browns, or Truman's on their eugene in double shot would be a great option that can straddle tough enough but also dressy enough
yea I'm thinking the same too
dark brown derby sounds nice
Just got a pair tailored
navy blue
same colored buttons, just a very government look
first fitting in about 2 wks ish

this factory man finally got himself a Blazer
I'm rocking my 8 eye Doc Martens and switch to Redwings when on site
chino pants
often wear short sleeves
this day in the pic I end up wearing long sleeves and tie for a management meeting
Blazer is soft Italian wool, classic drape, 2 vents, navy blue
Looks really good my guy congrats
dressing nice is actually....
