Looking for suggestions on optimizing server, lag too much
Hey there, I built a Quilt SMP server for some friends and when any more than 2 people on it starts to lag like crazy. The TPS and MSPT is looking bad but im having a tough time understanding the info and trying to read this spark report better to figure out a better plan of action. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

datapacks are generally bad for optimisation because it’s trivially easy to make laggy

because most things run every tick
which is 20 times a second assuming you don’t lag

i intend to i want to get better rates and have more longevity its scary trying to keep a platform up and not being sure if people will be able to enjoy it
Makes sense though 80% of the hosts in #marketplace would help get you there with better spec, rates, etc. Some are better than others and tailor offers to your specific usecase so that's why people make posts.

Still datapacks taking 50% however villagers are very laggy
most of this can be resolved by using a better cpu

im looking at packages and just want to make sure i pick the correct one
tbh 12 looks okay for what you're doing. Though with most providers (like ourselves) you can upgrade with a click of a button

hey there the server swap def helped now I'm just looking for ways to smooth the server out more. Is there a way in spark to be able to figure out when mod/datapack is causing the most tick lag? I'm trying to figure out if theres anything i can pull from the pack that could be causing more harm than help. this is a spark report i just pulled:

overall its doing really good just trying to plan for increased usage

/perf start command and DM me the zip file it makes in the debug/profiling folder (can't send it here, @Admincraft Meta gets mad)
