EVGA XR1 Pro Messed Up Capture
I just bought a new EVGA XR1 Pro and the video I see from it on my monitor is normal but this is what the capture looks like in both discord and OBS. I've tried fiddling with the resolution but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm feeding 480p video into it from a retrotink 2x pro.

Turning on the line doubling feature on the retrotink fixed it! I'm not sure why it needed to be on but it works now!

Very strange as that switch needed to be off for my old capture card to work properly with the tink
Line doubling is the scaling part of the 2x
Most modern capture devices will not work with 240p/480i. very much part of the point of buying a scaler
I guess I misunderstood it cuz it always just worked in the past
I'm still not sure how turning 480i content into 480p via bob deinterlacing counts as "line doubling"
Maybe I'm just not understanding the whole thing
480i is 240 fields alternating
So line doubling gives you 480 full lines in progressive scan
Bob deinterlacing just doubles each line so you still get the “Bob” of the field shifting
Now it's making more sense
Cuz 480i content is sending 240 fields per vblank and the tv just needs to know to offset them by one every other time
And 240p is basically a hack where you just don't offset the fields every other time, hence those weird black gaps when viewing 240p content on an actual crt
I think I got it now
