Enthalpy means you’re counting energy in each step like if I have Cl2 in liquid phase you have to give energy to make it gaseous then to get one Cl from the molecule then energy to remove one electron Ionisation enthalpy in gaseous state is the same as ionisation energy tho

oh yeh samaj nahi aya kuch

Basically you need to make it in gaseous state to remove the electron

haan

And to do that you need to give more energy than ionisation energy

i thought DELTA ionisation energy = ionisation enthalpy hoga acha is that wrong

It’s IE=delta H In gaseous In non gaseous del H is grater than IE

Is the magnitude of ionisation enthalpy and ionisation energy is same?
In my textbook it is written that ionisation energy and ionisation enthalpy are two different quantities. ionisation energy is the amount of energy provided to extract an electron from the outermost

Ignore voice note. Atkins says it's the same.
