Are these chinos too long?

Hi I am pretty clueless when it comes to fashion and I bought a pair of dark Chinos for a formal setting, now I'm wondering if they are too long? They are 32 Waist, 32 Length and are from Uniqlo, so I can get them shortened for free. I am not really sure where Chinos in a formal setting should fall, but I am thinking that these look a bit too long. I was thinking of getting them reduced by an inch. Alternatively, I could return them and move to a 30 inch length, though I think that would be too short. Please let me know what you think!

You could probably afford an inch or so off them but they’re not egregiously long as they are now Try cuffing them once and see how they sit on your shoes

Once you wash them they’ll also shrink if they’re cotton

Thanks for the advice, I think they look better taken up an inch or so, thoughts?

Thanks for your help! I think I can only get the alteration if they are unwashed/unworn, so I think I might have to just risk getting them altered without having washed them first, which isn't ideal.

You don’t have to use the in-house tailor btw. Any tailor can hem pants for cheap. It’s super common.

The in house Uniqlo tailor is free

Yeah that’s what I figured. If they’re worried about the risk of it shrinking too much it might be worth going outside. Just a consideration
