Help, I don't know why but I'm getting so low fps, what are some settings I might tweak?
I'm getting like 40fps, my cpu has 24 threads and rn its set to 12 threads on all options, I can also tell any necessary other settings, without shaders I get like 30fps more but that's it

Does your fps improve if you set cpu load to something low in dh's settings?
lemme see
I don't think it does, if anything I have more fps when I have 12 than 5 threads
That's quite odd
And what if you completely disable distant generation?
I have like 10-20 more
with disabled
That's something at least
How much fps do you get without dh?
wrong ss
here
this message pops up when I try to disable
It's usually not a great idea to disable the dh render while shaders are active. With "without dh" I meant removing it from your mods folder.
On a side note, the shader you are currently using does not have shader support, maybe that is related to the low fps
I'm using complementary unbound rn if that helps
I'll see if removing the mod fixes that
Update it to the latest version
I downloaded it recently
What version is it
also, I just removed dh and I consistently get like 20-30 more fps
uhhhhh
That sounds expected
5.3
Oh weird, that should have shader support
Can you try another shader?
I can try yeah I have 2 other
idk if sildurs or solas have support tho
okay I'll enable dh again
Sliders definitely not, idk about solas
oh also one quick offtopic question: if I use chunky while "distant generation" is set to false, will it still bloat my world size?
Yes, because you are still unnecessarily saving vanilla chunks
okay so when generating, I delete distant horizons, generate with chunky and then ctrl z dh into the mods folder and I should be alright, yes?
also I just tried solas and I'm sure it doesn't have support cause I got 40 less fps LFMAO
That will still cause high file sizes, since its directly caused by chunky
If you need a lot of chunks, high file sizes will always be an issue, no matter how they are generated. Distant Generation doesn't actually save the chunks tho, it only converts them to LODs, so the high file sizes of chunks isn't a problem with it
ohhhh
also should I get the bar at the top when loading chunks?
If you're using chunky to pregenerate, yes, you should be having a status bar at the top
well- oh wait maybe we should take this out of this thread I'll go into #general
what gpu do you have?
cause my 8300h is doing fine on dh, 110fps
bottleneck is my gpu with shaders
I have uhh rtx 4060
