Nightly sunshine from ujust seems to have issues
There seems to be an issue with sunshine not wanting to use AV1 on the latest bazzite.
The sunshine version from the portal seems to be installing a pre-release version of sunshine (2024.809.202917.copr) which is I suspect the issue, and would like to know how to install the release varient.
If that isn't the issue, and if anyone can point me to something else that's wrong, here's my computers details.
CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X3d
GPU: RX 7900 XTX
Video Driver: 4.6 (Compat Profile) Mesa 24.2.4
This was working a few days ago, so I suspect that it's either the nightly sunshine, or an issue with the video driver I'm using.
Any solution will work since I'm unable to reasonably use sunshine right now, and that's a bit frustrating.

I've got the same issue on my end, hadn't tried to moonlight stream in a week or so, but now I'm getting AV1 encoder errors on host, and I'm also no longer able to establish an HDR stream either
I just installed sunshine on my new Bazzite install and also having problems. I have an RX 6600XT and sunshine refuses to use it for encoding, using my CPU instead. Streaming works in desktop mode but as soon as gamescope is involved, it becomes unusable.
Is the solution just to wait for an update (hopefully from a stable branch)?
i was looking around at the sunshine issue queue and i think this might have to do with kde 6.2 stuff at least for me, one of the symptoms i was seeing was a really dark/low brightness/washed out stream (hdr not working) but that apparently is due to some breaking changes in kde apis? https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine/issues/3298

I'm definitely gettng this whole process though, ending in me getting connected in h264 software encoding đŹ
maybe it's a VAAPI issue? i think there's some kind of vaapi regression that OBS people have been talking about in the main bazzite chat
I'm getting nearly the exact same output. I'm also not getting HDR streaming (I wondered why it looks a little washed out), though I'm running Gnome not KDE so it definitely looks like a VAAPI issue
Does anyone know where we might be able to revert to to fix this for the time being? Being on the latest is nice, but not worth it to me when it makes Sunshine unusable
You can probably just roll back to the last Fedora 40 release.
rpm-ostree rebase ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-deck:stable-40
but make sure you replace âbazzite-deckâ with whatever image youâre using
if that fixes your issue, definitely report back just in case others find this through searchYup, rolling back fixed it.
I have no clue whether it's a sunshine issue, or a driver issue (7900xtx for me)
Here's the sunshine version that it rolled back to 2024.629.13903.copr
I have this issue also. I have to use Fedora 40 to get good performance from my 4090. 2ms average on desktop for fedora 40 then on 41 it jumps to 26ms
Itâs almost certainly VAAPI
Anyone know if this has been fixed?
Apparently the latest stable build fixes a different long standing sleep issue with the 7900xt for the curious and it'd be sweet if I could take advantage of that fix without losing access to sunshine

Is performance always bad after waking from sleep? Performance is occasionally bad when my set up wakes, but putting it bad to sleep and waking it again almost always fixes it for me
