nice!nano not charging
I just got my 6-col corne, and I got batteries off an australian supplier (401230). I've noticed that the right side does not seem to be able to charge - left it charging last night and in the morning it was still on 0% (based on the screen). The left side is fine.
Thing's I've done:
- switched the battery with the other side. The left side is still fine
- Disassembled to see the lights on the nice!nanos (because I can't see the lights when the nice!nanos and batteries are fully assembled on the pcb). One nice!nano flashs both orange and blue when plugged in. The other flashes only blue.
The bluetooth works fine, but I have to keep the right side plugged into a charger, otherwise it stops working (the battery indicator always says 0).
I have the no solder version.

It sounds like you're experiencing a charging issue with the right side of your 6-column Corne keyboard. Here are some troubleshooting steps and considerations based on your description:
1. Battery Compatibility: The 401230 batteries may be too large for the Corne's design. The recommended battery size is 301230. Using a larger battery can lead to fit issues and may not allow proper connection with the JST jack.
2. Battery Orientation: Ensure that the battery is installed correctly. The yellow taped side should be on the bottom, and the wires should be positioned correctly between the nice!view socket and the inner socket for the nice!nano.
3. Power Switch: Make sure the power switch is turned on when charging. The nice!nano will not charge the battery if the switch is off.
4. Check Connections: Since you mentioned that the left side is functioning correctly, double-check the JST connection on the right side. Ensure that the connector is fully seated and that there are no visible damages to the wires or connector.
5. Inspect the nice!nano: The fact that one nice!nano flashes both orange and blue while the other only flashes blue could indicate a problem with the right nice!nano. It may not be functioning correctly, which could prevent the battery from charging.
6. Soldering Issues: Since you have the no-solder version, ensure that the headers are properly seated and making good contact. If there are any issues with the connection, it could affect charging.
7. Testing with a Different Battery: If possible, try using a 301230 battery to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the battery size is causing the problem.
If you've gone through these steps and the issue remains unresolved, it may be necessary to reach out for further assistance or consider replacing the right nice!nano if it appears to be malfunctioning.
The batteries are properly oriented. I do not believe the battery size is a huge issue (although i've already ordered the recommended batteries on AliExpress), as the left side is perfectly fine, even when I switched the batteries. The power switches are also turnd on for both sides. Headers on both sides are fully seated.
