CPU Encoding Overload With GPU Encoding

Currently using testing changing my setup to use Twitch Enhanced Streaming and Aitum Multi. And noticed I was still receiving . "Encoder Overload" errors and dropped frames during scene transitions. ((Update)) While OBS is running I see a pretty sizable CPU Utilization that will spike to 100% during certain transitions. Is there something wrong with my settings where OBS is drawing on the CPU and causing the Overloads? Aitum settings included for reference, but I'm also receiving the error when I am only recording with no addition I've been having a similar issue while not using Twitch Enhanced, but finally trying to sort out a solution.

How many outputs do you have going to twitch enhanced broadcasting? You gotta be careful with the encode session limit, and even then most single computers are definitely having their limits pushed beyond 4-5 sessions / 8 max.

When I was getting the error initially it was just a single rtmp and local recording session. I last tested with just a single recording session with the above settings and still would get encoder overloads. This is on a streaming PC. So it's only running ons and has a chrome window open. The GPU load is well under its cap, but transitions ping the cpu to 100% then I get the Encoder overload message.

You may want to check with OBS's log analyzer and check the site and post it here

sorry i definitely undertyped this but upload your log file to the obs site, there should be an option within obs

Ill give it a look in the morning Just a little update. I pulled the log and started reviewing any errors I saw, and there were a lot of audio sources in source clones that were timing out resulting in an error, so I went through and cleaned up a bunch of deprecated sources and closed the audio capture on source clones that didn't need it. I wasn't paying much attention to it during my last stream, but I don't remember seeing many "encoder overload" errors flash. I'll try to monitor more during my next stream, Also I don't think I explained the conern too well in the OP. I'm seeing Encoder overload errors flash, but from what I've seen in vods, there aren't any real visual issues, and worst case there may be a degree of audio drift in an hours long stream
