Coping with Online Shopping as the only option
Online shopping can only be so satisfying. U find urself on the 30th page of a buyee or eBay search and wish u could walk into a shop and just walk out with the thing? There’s so little good brick and mortar retail around me though and I’m stuck with online shopping to find things.
How do u cope with things only being accessible online?

been there! my answer was finding a new hobby (or picking back up an old one) where i did have access to brick & mortar shops again and getting my instant gratification fix that way. I also found more love for my clothes when I slowed way down on purchasing. ymmv(:
Did you eventually get to a point where it was fun to online shop again?
Also thanks for takin time to answer this :’)
yes! it took some time definitely, but I went thru a phase where I was just over fashion in general tbh.
Joining this server kinda marked my return to fashion as a hobby, and after spending time focusing on other aspects of my life and building up other interests, I feel more excited about clothes than I have in a long time. Even living where I do now and having access to a lot of really great brick & mortar shops, i look forward to online shopping because it's just a different vibe. Less spontaneous, but I tend to be more mindful.
I don't have the answer to this, but for me personally I've accepted that brick and mortar retail is a good treat when I'm traveling. Especially for boutiques, and it's a great way to explore new brands in person in more curated spaces and maintains some sense of discovery that I appreciate. I don't know if those boutiques would feel as special if they were down the road from me
Otherwise, I'm trying to learn how to get better at knitting and more DIY things to slow down my pace and make my own pieces I can cherish and appreciate. I don't have anything I'm super proud of yet but making progress every week and it feels like a good alternative to doomscrolling on online shops
For me shopping online is also very much the default - brick and mortar is like a special little treat that I can have every once in a while.
Buying stuff online can feel like it lacks soul and that sucks. But at the end of the day it should be the clothes that enrich you, not the act of buying them! Buying clothes in a store can definitely enhance the whole thing in a positive way, but imo the focus should be on the item itself.
