Examples of deconstructing clothes to repurpose the fabric?
Came across a pair of pants thrifting yesterday that were made of this gorgeous flecked tweed. The fit and cut were terrible, but I woke up this morning still thinking about how sick that fabric was.
Now my head is full of ways you might cut the seams open and use the fabric for something else. Anyone here done this? Or have pics of other people doing it? Just feeding my curiosity here…

@casey has done this a few times so might have some tips! Example very cool baseball cap: https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1137185157250555984/1262061297084792902
Oh wow yeah this whole discussion is what I’m after, thanks. Elvander literally doing the exact thing I’m asking about, using tweed patches all over a pair of pants
Done this with a pair of pants my friend had.
He owned a pair or cordoroy EGs that ripped at the crotch and i sewed them into a tote for him
Ripping at the seams was a bit tough but with a roller blade i just went at them and made adjustments with a pattern
Yeah that’s also a great idea
Another casey project lmao
This is a bdu I had him cut and repatch with bandanas, denim, and an old ralph lauren ocbd
oh yeah
as mentioned i do it all the time, any time im out thrifting and find something with cool fabric for cheap ill pick it up
harris tweed, loro piana wool, etc
so so good
