Lost currency, but how?

I lost 1 of the currency pointed to in the ss. Although it's 1, isn't it supposed to be returned when canceling match making? I did it 3 times before because no one would join and same for the last time where i lost the currency.. can someone tell me if I'm missing any info on how it works? I'm pretty sure nothing changed with what i did in all matchings.
