I have a big coat that I only really get to bust out when its sub zero. Looking forward to these days
I usually cycle to work though and long dramatic overcoats are sadly not terribly practical for that.
Do you have anything in particular your looking forward this winter Bud?
Its the best jacket and boots season here. Tends not to rain too much, or get so cold you have to break out the Big Jacket.
Step 1: Buy all beeg vintage coats available
Step 2: Wait for the gulf stream to collapse
Step 3: Profit?
layering is fun and good
ironically enough my outerwear is trending towards heavy weight which is annoying since winters have gotten progressively warmer here
I love my old harris tweed jacket. Built like a friggin tank, works great for cycling to work and deals well with the usual light rain.

Boots and coats and boots and coats and
I have this problem where I have a winter coat in my wardrobe thats kind of redundant but would also be a shame to get rid of
I also dont want to make the decision to get rid of it yet as its also not cold enough to wear it now
For this winter I'm hoping I can snag an actual big coat, more like ankle length or at least comes down to calf. Most of my current ones sit at knee or thigh length, and they just don't feel big enough,
This will be my first winter in DC actually, and although it does snow here, it's nothing like the South Dakota winters I'm used to that were just brutally cold. Subzero temps and high winds and such. I get to exercise more "warm winter" outfits, which I'm all for
Sweaters and tailored tweed jackets are my happy place
