Warehouse Shoes Suggestions
So I’ve applied for a warehouse job where I’ll be working 8 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday. I’ve been invited for an introduction appointment but I’m planning ahead in case I do get the job, and one area I’ve been considering is the shoes that I’ll be wearing for the day.
- Budget: up to £100.
- Location: UK.
- Timescale: Fairly quickly.
- Probably not second hand this time.
- Average shoe size is UK10.5.

There’s probably some safety standards at play here, best to wait until you know what those are
Most places will also offer you a reimbursement to purchase safety equipment. At least in the US.
I’m most familiar with US brands. I’d generally recommend Danner or Keen. There is a Keen UK store it looks like. But getting compliant shoes for your particular work area is important.
There are more budget brands if you don’t get a reimbursement. I’d go to a local shoe store that sells lots of brands. They’re bound to have what you need.
2nd to say they will most likely provide you with steel toe cap safety shoes for this kinda work environment
I wouldn't buy anything before going
Just wear your Barbour boots you have for day 1
On the off-chance you do need to buy your own, I wear these in the factory most days: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186748996526
(If you're a 10.5 in Converse, these will probably fit you fine)

They should give you a pair. Be prepared to size down like 2 sizes and also those boots are hella uncomfortable. I bought some on amazon for 40£ they’re steel toe cap and come up above the ankle so they meet the companies requirements and are comfy
These are true to size and comfy

If you like the ones they give you keep em if not it’s worth investing in some ones that fit and don’t give you pain. I worked at another warehouse for 4 months the boots they gave were too big and uncomfy now my right foot and ankle hurts when I walk it’s been like this for a month with this pain I’ve started doing some exercises for my foot and it’s getting better. But try to prevent rather than fixing a problem
To add to what others have said, I would be surprised if the employer doesn't supply you with safety footwear free of charge. So this may well be a situation where you have to take what you're given (usually some hideously ugly cheap PPE) but it protects your feet and complies with HSE legislation
Ok
So I've been told today that they'll provide me with steel toe boots but I can also bring my own.
