Finally got the suit delivered the other day - Which one looks better?
Hello again,
I have a couple of questions with this outfit for cocktail evening!
Does the length of the blazer look ok? It just ends above the crotch area.
Does the blazer fit me correctly? Is it too tight around the buttons?
Additional Info -
1. Currently, I don't have a black shirt or pocket square
2. The black T-shirt is not a perfect match to the black trousers! The tee is matte and trousers have a sheen!
3. The matching trousers are an inch longer than I would like them to be (not sure I'll have time to get them hemmed)
Thanks a lot. I appreciate the help.

@ᵏʸⁿ Does it look formal? It is supposed to be a cocktail party.
cocktail implies a suit which would suggest 1 or 2 as ideal imo
Ahh makes sense. Would the black trousers (3 & 4) one be casual wear then?
i would consider it more casual but imo i wouldn't wear those
without knowing anything about your tastes or inspiration, that specific look (db jacket, t shirt and contrasting pants) reads as a 90s homage but if so would be better served by a less slim, less tapered pant
from what i can tell the jacket is a good fit; the length is fine imo.
the fit is a little hard to tell from how you're holding the phone (which is probably causing some of the pulling on the buttons). for me it's a little snug but a shot with your arms down at your sides would be easier to tell, a la
It's not a wedding cocktail party. It is a work screening with cocktail attire.
i don't think there's a measurable difference between the two as relating to the question raised
how much time do you have to change/buy anything for this event?
Let me see if I can take a picture with my arms on the side without a tripod.
The event is on Sunday
The jackets doesn't pull when my hands are straight down
The black trousers are mine. It's the full suit that's new. I bought them online so I don't really have enough time to change or exchange
Cocktail isn’t necessarily a suit but you should have suit pants or adjacent so I’d go with the full suit
If you had black dress trousers it could work but these look like chinos
It's not ironed as so now and too ruffled up. But they are casual tapered woolen trousers.
Thanks guys. I'll go with the full suit.
I'd personally also wear a tie. I find jackets and suits can look weird without one
I think in a lot of situations it’s fine without a tie but bc it’s double breasted I would consider a tie
sorry to confuse you on this @DreamingDruid but i really dig the seperates
cocktail work event sounds like 7 and 8 would have no problem, while 5 and 6 would depend on how formal the company leans and if you think a tee would fly
you can go tie but it's preference a the end of the day - if you feel less comfortable/less you in a tie, skip it
I personally just don't like how invisi-tie looks most of the time
he's got top buttons undone, it doesn't look like he's going for the air tie look
What do you like best @DreamingDruid
This is somewhat I had in mind -
Obviously they are not gray! But just the outfit!
yeayea ofc
while i do hate these images, I think you're doing good with what you're putting together
I'm missing a pocket square!!
I'd just go with your gut at the end of the day, the coat looks really good so it'll carry whatever you go with
Hahah! Really? Curious to know what you don't like about them? Too "old money " vibes?
The fit and style is just very uhh, "of a time" but also kinda have an online alpha male husslepreneur vibe to it IMO
It looks put together and normal to most regular people in the world fwiw, the take im providing is very online menswear pov
Hahahaha... I see that now
I wouldn’t do a pocket square without a tie tbh
A pocket square is not really necessary and doesn’t really work in a more casual setting
Like to me it looks out of place
@DreamingDruid
I’m digging all combos except for 3 imho. Great texture/fabric on that coat. Eventually a small hem on the length of the pants would be great. Can I ask the brand of the suit?
It's from Banana Republic (online only in Canada)
@DreamingDruid ah dang, so can’t order from the US?

I did not check
@DreamingDruid awesome thanks. I think I found the US. Version. I am not sure if I could pull off this color combo since I am more blond. What do you think?
I mean Daniel Craig pulls off a gray suit as a blonde haired person. I'm sure you can too.
