I think the main barrier for most is that they're based in Canada? Risky to do MTM without in person fittings
You could peruse this thread maybe: https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1133244437372358778
Yeah if your MTM measurements are just "one thing" atypical to standard clothing patterns it's fine. i.e. you just need longer/shorter arms but everything off-the-rack tends to fit, then MTM is quite easy.
Problems arise when you have multiple non-standard measurements which need to be accounted for.
Strongly recommend at least one attempt at a MTM in-person fitting and shirt. Then just copy that shirt going forward.
Always remember the +3 MTM shirt attempts, and associated oppatunity cost of time and effort, which could be easily fixed by the above strategy I mentioned
im canadian so i can make the trip to their brick and mortar location you're right
im not a complete alien or anything i just need slightly longer arms and darts put in
ill stop being lazy and just make the drive

if that's all why not buy tall sizes and have darts added from OTR shirts?
Yeah I have 36” arm measurements and wear S&M neck/sleeve sizes fine. I usually get their 16”/36”/Slim for context. I can also occasionally make their 16.5 neck sportshirts work. As their sleeves are occasionally long enough (sizing variations).
Local tailor can do darts cheaply if you can make sleeves work.
My experience is fabric dependent. I have fabrics of theirs I love and others I hate. Shrinkage is also a problem on some things. Shirts that originally fit me after purchase shrunk more than expected (following care instructions) and now no longer have long enough sleeves.
Yeah spier sleeve shrink is kinda bad - I wash and air dry all my shirts and get an extra inch-ish.
FWIW I got a mtm shirt recently after they launched their “new” program. It’s a pretty good fabric and the fit + finish is super good for what was like a $60 slightly custom shirt
