It did need Iris 1.8+, however since Iris 1.8 for 1.20.1 isn't coming out for atleast a while, the iris dev made Iris 1.7.5, which is compatible with DH's API Changes of DH 2.2

You're using Iris 1.7.5 and DH 2.1.2.
Iris 1.7.5 requires DH 2.2+.
Either use DH 2.2+ or Iris 1.7.2
dh 2.2 didnt needed iris 1.8?
